Opioid addiction and overdose affect more than the individual. Devastated and struggling family members are left in the wake. They must cope with anxiety and frustration to help their loved ones or grieve if the battle is lost. As mentioned in previous posts, addiction to prescription and synthetic opioids has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to help members of our community, I would like to share the following. Overdoselifeline.org was started by Justin Phillips, the mother of an overdose victim. Family members, organizations, and individuals can obtain life-saving Naloxone through the organization. Justin had a son named Aaron, so an Indianapolis Camp Mariposa location, Aaron’s Place, was named in his honor. If a child loses a sibling, parent, or loved one to overdose, their life is forever changed. Camp Mariposa endeavors to help them understand and overcome the devastating effects of opioid addiction. If you would like to join me in supporting this organization, please donate using one of the options below and be sure to let me know. My goal is to meet EVERY one of their current needs on their Amazon Wish List with your help. I appreciate your support!
Sincerely,
Brice
